As a partner of the Pawley Lean Institute, the Lean Learning Center has supported the institute in many ways. Recently, the Lean Learning Center provided six complimentary seats to its Lean Experience® class to students of Oakland University on an annual basis for a period of three years. The course provides students with the opportunity to obtain advanced practical experience in lean thinking and foundational skills. Students in the class are given the chance to collaborate with organizations that are pursuing their lean journeys and receive an additional lean credential upon completion that will provide a competitive edge once they enter the workplace.

The Pawley Lean Institute was established by co-founder of the Lean Learning Center, Dennis Pawley, to institute Lean thinking at Oakland University and provide students with the opportunity to integrate a lean specialization into their formal degree plan. After fifty years of working to change American business, founder Dennis Pawley noted that he realized the best way to influence change is through the students of today. Consequently, the Pawley Institute is dedicated to creating leaders and learners in the university, public and private sectors, and community that are prepared to shape a better future for American business and society.

About Lean Learning Center

The Lean Learning Center was founded in 2001 to address the gaps and barriers that are holding back companies from successful and sustainable lean transformation. In addition to the advanced curriculum, the Center has developed a learning environment designed specifically for adult learning utilizing techniques that include discovery simulations, case studies, personal planning, and reflection – ultimately engaging people at all levels of the organization at a deep and personal level to increase learning retention and success back on the job. We instill lean skills and knowledge in creative ways across all industries and all positions ranging from front-line employees to supervisors to executives.
