The Lean Learning Center is the proud recipient of a partnership award from the Pawley Lean Institute for their continued support of Lean initiatives at Oakland University.
The Lean Learning Center was honored with the Pawley Lean Institute Partner Award for its ongoing support and contributions towards the vision of Lean thinking as promoted by the Pawley Lean Institute. The award was given at the recent recognition dinner held on February 8th, 2016 for the institute’s partnership supporters including General Motors, Faurecia, AT&T, Comerica Bank, and the Lean Learning Center.
“We have a long, proud association with the Pawley Lean Institute and Oakland University,” stated Bill Artzberger, partner of the Lean Learning Center and member of the Pawley Lean Institute advisory board. “We are honored to support the Pawley Lean Institute’s vision to transform American business by instilling critical lean thinking with the future leadership of these organizations who are currently students of Oakland University.”
As a partner of the Pawley Lean Institute, the Lean Learning Center has supported the institute in many ways. Recently, the Lean Learning Center provided six complimentary seats to its Lean Experience® class to students of Oakland University on an annual basis for a period of three years. The course provides students with the opportunity to obtain advanced practical experience in lean thinking and foundational skills. Students in the class are given the chance to collaborate with organizations that are pursuing their lean journeys and receive an additional lean credential upon completion that will provide a competitive edge once they enter the workplace.
The Pawley Lean Institute was established by co-founder of the Lean Learning Center, Dennis Pawley, to institute Lean thinking at Oakland University and provide students with the opportunity to integrate a lean specialization into their formal degree plan. After fifty years of working to change American business, founder Dennis Pawley noted that he realized the best way to influence change is through the students of today. Consequently, the Pawley Institute is dedicated to creating leaders and learners in the university, public and private sectors, and community that are prepared to shape a better future for American business and society.
