The Lean Experience® – Blended Version is exactly what it sounds like: an experience! You’ll internalize lean through personal experience and application using our Learn-Apply-Reflect process. Through a rapid repeated process, you’ll learn key concepts and put them in your head, apply them when you put them in your hands and reflect upon them when you put them in your heart. After Learn-Apply-Reflect, you’ll return to your organization as lean leaders, coaches, and achievers. This blended version will offer all of this with the flexibility of online learning.
Why use the Lean Experience® – Blended Version?
This program is for both those new to lean and lean experts. What’s the difference between a lean program and a true lean transformation? Only those companies that go beyond the tools of lean and develop the common lens, language, and thinking of lean succeed. Success is measured not just by a company’s ability to get results today, but to sustain and accelerate improvements. The Lean Experience® – Blended Version covers what no other program does—the principles and rules that enable lean transformation. You’ll learn how to use traditional lean tools and receive guidance and power to go beyond the tools.

Online Modules: Introducing Common Thinking and Lean Tools
The online portion of the course consists of 28 lessons that cover the four lean rules, the five lean principles, and lean tools such as mapping, visual displays and controls, standard work instructions, waste walk, A3 report, and the after-action review. Each lesson is followed by a short quiz. The approximate time to complete the online modules is 10 hours, and they can be accessed anytime, anywhere (an internet connection is available), and on any device including tablets and cell phones.
Day 1:
Day One begins by tackling many of the stereotypes associated with the terms “lean”, “lean manufacturing”, and “continuous improvement.” We then dive into an application of the lean rules and principles with a simulation.
Day 2:
Day Two is all about reviewing the Lean Principles and practicing with Lean tools to improve your simulation. We learn and use various mapping techniques to understand a system.
Day 3:
Day Three will begin by applying what you have learned for the second round of the simulation. You will be able to see the power of lean thinking in action. We will then discuss the leadership you’ll need to make lean effective in your organization and will help you develop an understanding of the successful lean journey.
